Months pass and the farming crisis continues. Despite the large sums released by the
State, breeders and ranchers are not out of the woods. ---- Facing the farming crisis that
never ends, the government announced in early March action: blank year in social security
contributions, debt erasure order to still invest and increase productivity and
competitiveness ... But it are only temporary measures, they are ineffective as a
structural crisis of overproduction, the same source is the disappearance of regulatory
tools at European level, quotas among others. ---- The only proposed route is the headlong
rush towards industrialization: increase investment, the size of farms, production. It's
the same small liberal refrain that we hear for months. A European leader is reassuring:
"The market will eventually regulate itself. "The regulation of the market means that a
number of small and medium farms will go bankrupt, and thus compensate for the increased
production of the largest. That is the reality. The market regulation is a social
disaster, human and economic. The invisible hand cleaned up our campaigns

The last European negotiations "crisis" of the mid-March did not question this approach.
While there may be some temporary regulations, there will be no collective measure
throughout the European Union.

peasant anger

Contestation and peasant actions have been more or less intensity in recent months but the
anger remains the same. FNSEA, the majority union which organizes the vindictiveness
facing a dramatic situation, blows hot and cold. A portion of the claims brought is
populist and fuzzy, "too many burdens," "too many standards." You can put different
realities behind these watchwords. Indeed, some maintain standards and peasant agriculture
farm, others want to impose an industrial vision.

Two visions of agriculture therefore face in their implementation. Or just another part of
the claims of the businessman's union Xavier Beulin goes in the direction of increasing
industrialization (investment, automated slaughterhouses ...), which will only make the
livestock crisis. On the one hand the FNSEA stirs protest, but on the other, she oversees
claims for profit.

Peasant Confederation fights hand to restore regulatory tools to return to decent prices.
This is the only short-term solution to avoid bankruptcy for many peasants. A claim shared
by many of the farmers and breeders are concerned, but the peasant union trouble to
succeed. Involved, difficulty drill mediatically but especially orientation and union
strategy not enough offensive in the regions most affected by the crisis.

Taking criticism of industrialization

We can not find appropriate solutions to this crisis only through a critique of the
agricultural model that was set up. For several decades, the way of "progress" has
dominated the whole development of agriculture expansion, investment in more efficient
tools and machines, thrust selection on livestock to increase productivity ... This unique
ideology is required in all areas, agricultural training to the technician who comes
adviser on the farm, through the accountant, banker, neighbors, co ...

When everyone works in one direction, it is difficult to change path. That's how many
generations have found themselves locked in a very export-oriented system that wanted to
play on the international markets. Ideological choices but also geopolitical led to the
establishment of this model. A country with a very export-oriented agriculture has an
important weight in the international arena. And a number of farm leaders have contributed
to the transformation of cooperatives in food multinationals, which now have policies
against farmers.

The addition is salty

Stuck in this model, they are paying now adding salt. But analysis of the link between the
production model and the crisis that we know is not worn by everyone in the country
Confederation. In some departments, the union has the means to lead a political front,
more ambitious, but it is necessary to assume that policy coherence.

Produce to win export markets implies an industrial system. We must make large volumes at
low cost. Between the monstrous investments, fluctuations in market prices and
cooperatives that compress regular prices paid to producers, farmers and farmers are
cutting back on their income to keep a semblance of economic stability. We are in a
situation where people supposed to feed people are actually working to feed the financiers
and speculators, whose profits are linked to international transactions on agricultural
matters.

The power at the heart of agricultural production

There is therefore a need to return to the debate from the center the direction of
agricultural production. This may seem trivial but it is imperative to give it a dietary
goal. Because if we produce to feed the population, then we have that production is
consumed locally. She does not need to cross the planet for that. If we work to feed the
population, then we must produce quality food and therefore of farmers and many farmers on
preserved land. If the primary objective of agriculture is food, then you have to change
agricultural policy!

UNITY ARABIC/ENGLISH LANGUAGE EXCHANGE –
Tuesday, May 24 at 7 PM – 9 PM
Kinning Park Complex, 43 Cornwall Street, G411BA (opposite Kinning Park Underground)

Free/donation

Every Tuesday we meet to exchange Arabic and English language in a conversation class. It
is a space for all levels to come and we all learn what we like in the way that we want –
some focus on writing and grammar, others prefer to swap slang.

We aim to improve our language skills and get to know each other in a supportive
environment – the class is a welcoming place, where English is not put on a pedestal and
everyone is learning.

The group is volunteer run and functions collectively – we make decisions all together.

The class is free but we welcome donations. Any money goes directly to funding others’
travel, who could not otherwise afford to attend the class. If you can’t come to the class
but want to support us anyway, you can donate here: https://www.gofundme.com/languageexchange

Bringing snacks to share is encouraged

The Unity Centre offers practical support and unconditional solidarity to asylum seekers
and all migrants – http://unitycentreglasgow.org/. The class has gotten so big we have
outgrown Unity’s office, hence the move to KPC.

[We are particularly in search of English speakers to join us, as there are many more
Arabic speakers than English speakers. You certainly don't have to be a native speaker,
anyone from anywhere is welcome!]

Please email unitylanguageexchange if you’d like to come down and feel free to extend this
invitation.
.
Hope to see you there!

* KPC will host us for the next weeks, but do email unitylanguageexchange to confirm venue
as it might change later in the year.

United Glasgow: Can You Support Us? A Call To Action!

From like-minded football clubs to individuals who agree with our stance on financial
inclusion and anti-discrimination, United Glasgow has many supporters from across the
world. We’re calling on you, your friends, families and local businesses to support our
cause and help us to continue to provide access to football for Glasgow’s young people. As
you will be aware, we operate under a system of paying only if you are able to, which is
why we’re appealing for supporters to set up a monthly subscription (£10 suggested
donation) to cover the costs of hiring training facilities.

"We spend nearly £800 per month on training venues alone; your monthly support can ensure
we can keep providing access and opportunities for all." – Alan, Chairperson

In 2014/15, the significant of our total costs were spent on renting venues to provide
access to sports (and we have grown since then!) and we could really use your help to
continue to provide this.

If you would like to set up a subscription or one off payment, you can rest assured that
your contributions are directly helping provide young people from all walks of Glasgow
life the chance to train and play together.

http://www.unitedglasgowfc.eu/supportus

Also: Do you have any spare football boots that you could donate to those who have none
but desperately want to play football? We’re always accepting donations of astro-trainers
and moulded boots (no metal studs!) for our men’s teams. Please get in touch if you can
help out.

In Paris, Marseille and Lille, the protests have been the scene of clashes between the SO
the CGT and part of manifestant.es It is urgent that the movement coming reluctantly to
the government and police repression. ---- The protests against the "work" law of May 12
was the place of internal clashes in several cities, including Paris, Marseille and Lille.
The facts, city by city, respond to different logics and Alternative Libertaire does not
have to arbitrate on the responsibilities of each other. ---- One thing is certain: the
confrontation between union-order services and those who are désigné.es by the bourgeois
media as "thugs" is deplorable. And, beyond the physical consequences it can have on
people. So far, in fact, the movement was relatively welded facing a brutal and
indiscriminate police repression, and refused distinguish bon.nes and mauvais.es
manifestant.es.

The government was legitimately worried that the social movement to resume the bull by the
horns, seen anger over the 49.3. For him, this discord among manifestant.es is an
excellent deal.

Role of police communication

We must emphasize how, in Paris, the police headquarters services have encouraged the
clashes in publishing, the day before the protest, a statement suggesting active
collaboration of the major trade unions with police. A statement false, which infuriated
both the CGT that to Solidarity .

The problem is that too many people are willing to take the police allegations at face
value. Both in the direction of some trade union organization that the prefecture panics
by sliding them as "anarchists uncontrollable thugs" will attack the event that the side
of manifestant.es that, on the basis of the statement of the prefecture, are ready to
believe that unions have become police auxiliaries!

Hence a latent hostility, sometimes serious consequences, such as May 12

The week ahead promises decisive. We must recover, refuse the logic of escalating
retaliation between the different sensibilities of the same social movement. It would be
irresponsible these scenes recur. Make no mistake of enemies against the government, the
cops and management, what will be decisive is to continue building the strikes and actions
of the coming week.

Strikes, blockades, sabotage, this is how we will win against the bill and the
accompanying world!

Intervention week made passed us in the Ministry of Merchant Marine of seafarers unions,
following a complaint seamen ship «OCEAN GLORY» shipping company NICOLAKIS SHIPPING SA,
located in the repair dock Drapetsona due to damage to the main engine for the serious
problems encountered. Specifically, the sailors of the ship «OCEAN GLORY» complain that is
unpaid four months, they work 12-hour some specialties and sailors of the ship from other
countries, who have declared resignation and want to return to, remain trapped without
being given the opportunity to do so. ---- In a 48-hour strike went down Thursday, the
12th and Friday, May 13 the "Petrogaz" workers, in response to horizontal wage cuts and
the withdrawal of benefits. As part of the strike was gathering at the gate of the
premises of "Petrogaz" Aspropyrgos am Thursday, May 12.

We workers reject management logic of the economy in our lives, we refuse the misery of
defeatism, we put forward the needs of the class with us. These stresses the Libertarian
Syndicalist Union Athens (ERC) in the text for the new insurance. Here is unchanged text:
What is new insurance bill:

It is the continuation of the previous government efforts to abolish insurance welfare
system and an integral part of the ruling class assault on the world of work, which aims
to dominance of the neoliberal economic model (known as the "every man for himself"), the
transfer public goods to the private sector and greater domination of capital.
The new insurance bill divides the pension in national (euro 386) and rewarding, with a
minimum performance threshold of 67 years, and linking health care with our contributions.
In addition, it leaves room in the State to redefine the level of pensions, or the
conditions under which medical care to be given. Therefore care and insurance, will no
longer be a collective right, Welfare structure and obligation of the State, but turns
into a matter of personal responsibility for the employee and issue provider for the
state, and is approached parallel shift of workers to private insurance companies and
care. The new insurance undermines the lives of all of us who are working today, and
condemning the next generations of workers to be given from the beginning the matches gave
the working class from 1900 until today, to achieve the acquired rights.
The fair solution to insurance:

Months now, Mass domestication trying to convince us that it is imperative to "recover"
our insurance system and to provide a "fair solution". If the insurance system suffers, we
are not responsible employees, who all these years constantly pay our contributions.
Responsible looting of pension funds from the state (gambling on the stock exchange with
its reserves, structured notes that the same funds loaded, the cut after the PSI ) and the
years of contribution evasion employers. Therefore only "fair solution" is to restore the
damage caused by those who caused it, namely the state and employers same.
What can we do:

Realizing that staying away from GSEE, Hadad, and other bosses organizations interrelated
with state and employers, but also self-organized in work places, neighborhoods and
schools are increasing our strength, we go together and ask: the withdrawal of the
insurance bill, the return of reserve funds, the payment of contributions due from an
employer, human wages and hours, combating the 'black' labor with stamps for all hours of
work and overtime, keeping the redistributive nature of social security. WE THE EMPLOYEES:
1) dismiss the LOGIC MANAGEMENT OF ECONOMY IN OUR LIVES, 2) refuse misery OF ITTOPATHEIAS
3) prepend THE NEEDS OF OUR ORDER

This American feminist writer has published over fifty years of precious novels to
understand the different faces of violence: that which flourishes in poverty, one that
runs along the racial divisions and the center of his work, which bruises the women. ----
The writing of Joyce Carol Oates is subtle and very measured. His novels are never sordid.
The writer arrives by simple observation, which is a kind of mirror that we tend to
measure the experienced injustice and its implications. When you're a woman and you read
Oates, it is not surprising. We recognize ourselves. ---- Degradation, violence,
humiliation by female characters portrayed are part of our daily lives. The writer's
evolved over several decades. We see them grow up and grow old or die. attachment since it
accompanies it. By identifying them, we suffer with these women class injustices and
patriarchy. It endures emotional abuse, psychological and physical that turn - or not - in
trauma. As in our lives, they are milestones that constitute them. The class oppression
and patriarchy are finally full of "little things" that seem normal everyday as they are
common. Yet it gradually end up making women "crazy".

In a society like France, where 75,000 women are raped every year - a rape is committed
every seven minutes on average - it is essential to continue to combat the normalization
of rape and to uncover the system that legitimizes and produces these violence.

The heroines of Joyce Carol Oates, in the image of women in general, grow up with the idea
that their bodies do not belong to them, it can be degraded and that when this happens,
they are responsible. In Falls, Ariah Littrell pay throughout his life suicide of her
husband who takes the morning of their wedding night, as if women were in them the
responsibility of becoming men, their husband, their brother, their father. Patriarchal
society maintains the idea that girls and sisters belong to the men of their families.
Then, from the moment they have sex - whether intended or not - with a man, they become
their property.

If the female characters of Joyce Carol Oates are central, they nevertheless gradually
disappear novels. Men take up space, the whole place in As. In We were Mulvaney example,
if Marianne who is raped, it is the states of mind, pain and trauma of the men of his
family overwhelm the story. The father descends into hell, ashamed and destroyed by the
rape of his daughter, while the brother is obsessed with revenge. Marianne feels that we
do not know, or little. Nobody takes the trouble to seek to know their wishes and
projects. Her father and brothers are not empathetic, which the guide is the humiliation
they suffer as men, because another man dared to touch one of their women.

How does it do to become mature, to grow, to build relationships, to have sex while her
teenage life was marked by a violent attack? We do not know. As in real life. The
thoughts, the feelings, the experiences of the women's annex. And in life as women
eventually disappear. Invisible.

Deny guilt

It is in the sense of sisterhood and life in community of women as heroines of Joyce Carol
Oates manage to deny guilt, imposing their own rules as teen of Confessions of a Girl
Gang. By showing character alienating social structures such as family (we were the
Mulvaney), the company (the Falls), the ghetto (They) or university (Mudwoman), the writer
urges us to imagine other more emancipatory structures.

Joyce Carol Oates's novels are as custodians of a shared history of women's struggles
against patriarchal violence and ecological alternatives: in Falls such a voice is given
to those who fought the ravages of industrial expansion in 1950-1960 in the United States.

collective sharing of injuries

Other novels register the cooperative life experiences of the 1960s a feminist reading:
societal alternatives based on cooperation and solidarity, whether mixed or not, appear
emancipation for women. They oppose the pursuit of profit, the exacerbated desire to own,
crush, humiliate.

The richness of the themes in his novels (ecology, the rejection of the war in the Middle
East, racism) forces us to make a back-and-forth that never ceases to show the conflict
between individual-e and his environment, between individual morality and collective
morality. The characters in Joyce Carol Oates are powerful because they show us how the
simple point of fact exist in our society is precarious. Precariousness, whether economic
or emotional, is a way of life own subordinates in the novels of Joyce Carol Oates:
indeed, some lives do not matter and your continued to exist, to support himself in life
is already an achievement.

The violence create scratches, bruises with which each one should live his life. They may
subside with time or be crippling burdens, depending. That's life. Each one has to do with
his neuroses and traumas. The novels of Joyce Carol Oates show us that these pains that
are personal and intimate yet said the common lot of people belonging to the same
oppressed group, either because of social class, gender or color of skin.

When the sum of individual experiences appears as a collective sharing of injury, then,
the fact is that they are the result of domination that make system. They are one of the
ways in which patriarchy, racism and capitalism bully us, we feel inferior to ourselves
and to others to break the revolts inclinations.

After accompanying these characters are other ourselves, we leave the novels of Joyce
Carol Oates in the knowledge of having made the right choice the day we chose to fight for
social justice and the fulfillment of each and every one of all. And with a fierce will to
continue.
